| Better Payment Practice Group
appoints new Chairman 14th April 2003
The Better Payment Practice Group (BPPG) has welcomed
Clive Lewis, Head, SME Issues, Technical Strategy Directorate of
the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
to the role of Chairman.
The ICAEW is one of 19 members of the Group,
which was set up in 1997 as a partnership between the public and
private sectors to campaign
for a more positive payment culture in the UK. Clive will hold the
position of chairman for a year, with effect from the start of April.
Commenting
on his appointment, Clive said, “All businesses
in the UK can play their part in improving the country’s payment
culture. Advisers, including accountants, have a key role to play
in bringing about positive payment practice by reminding businesses
of the benefits of paying and being paid on time. As Chairman of
the BPPG, I am looking forward to helping extend the reach of the
campaign, hopefully raising the issue of late payment to the top
of the agenda for both the business and adviser community.”
