| Richard Wilson to serve second term as Better
Payment Practice Group Chairman
The Better Payment Practice Group (BPPG) has announced that Richard
Wilson, Head of Business Policy at the Institute of Directors,
has been re-appointed as Chairman.
The Institute
of Directors is one of 18 member organisations that form the
BPPG, the cooperative
forum of representatives from the business community and Government
that seeks to help improve the payment culture amongst organisations
trading in the UK.
Richard has been a member of the Group
since 1998, having joined shortly after its inception. Commenting
on his appointment, Richard remarked: "I
am delighted to have the opportunity to spend a second year as
Chairman of the Group. The Group has worked hard to remind companies,
large and small, of their responsibility to the business community.
I am particularly encouraged by the Group's findings that a growing
number of businesses are using the Late Payment Legislation as
a deterrent. When used in conjunction with strong credit management
techniques, it acts as an effective tool to improve the payment
culture amongst businesses in the UK. I look forward to helping
the Group build on the success it has achieved to date."
